The Wichita Police Department arrested a 61-year-old Wichita man on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated criminal sodomy, and rape.
The arrest was the result of an investigation into a sexual assault that injured a 58- year-old Wichita woman.
The assault occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7th. WPD Officers were dispatched to a local hospital for a sexual assault report. The victim told police she was attacked by the suspect in the 900 block of West Maple.
Investigators said that they believe the man and woman knew one another, and that the incident was not random. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office.
