The driver killed in Monday’s crash at K-15 and 55th S. is identified as 57-year-old David Carden, of Wichita.
Sheriff’s investigators say Carden was driving a pickup west on 55th and was hit by a driver in an SUV while going across K-15. The SUV driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing. Sheriff’s officials noted that traffic on 55th has stop signs at K-15, but did not say if Carden was believed to have ran a stop sign.
