Sedgwick County Commissioners approved a $300,000 settlement related to a September 25th, 2020 accident that killed a mother and her four children.
The incident happened at the intersection of 263rd West and 71st St. South between Cheney and Clearwater. The driver of a semitrailer loaded with grain ran the stop sign while headed east on 71st and hit an SUV carrying the five victims.
The crash claimed the lives of 32-year-old Jessica Noel of Viola and her four children; 10-year-old Anaiah Brady, 4-year-old Jeffrey Thompson III, 4-month-old Hank Thompson, and 2-year-old Mack Thompson.
Sedgwick County officials said they worked with the family to reach an amicable settlement before settling the claim.
