Gasoline prices were going down into the Thanksgiving day weekend, and Wichita drivers are now paying less than three dollars a gallon. Prices at several locations were reported to be $2.99 a gallon.
AAA-Kansas reported the average price in Wichita for Thanksgiving Day at $3.07, while the statewide average was at $3.21.
More than 525,000 people in Kansas were expected to travel by car to their Thanksgiving destinations, an increase of 0.2 percent from a year ago. More than 29,000 people were expected to travel by air.
