The White House is nominating former assistant prosecutor Kate Brubacher to be the next U.S. Attorney for Kansas.
President Biden announced Tuesday that Brubacher, a Kansas native, is the nominee to replace Duston Slinkard. Slinkard has been acting U.S. Attorney for Kansas since January 2021.
Brubacher was an assistant prosecuting attorney in Jackson County, Missouri from 2016 to August of 2022.
The nomination now must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
