The governors of Kansas, Missouri and Pennsylvania are betting each other on the outcome of the Super Bowl, matching the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly said she has made a bet with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro on Super Bowl 57. If the Chiefs win, Governor Shapiro will send soft pretzels from the Philly Style Hand Twisted Soft Pretzel Bakery, cheesesteaks from Tony Luke’s, and mini Eagles doughnuts from Collegeville Italian Bakery. If the Eagles win, Governor Kelly will send Shapiro steaks from Creekstone Farms in Arkansas City and chocolate-covered sunflower seeds from Sunflower Food Company in Overland Park.
Governor Kelly placed the first legal sports wager in Kansas last September, betting on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl. She signed a bill last year to legalize sports betting in Kansas.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson has placed his own bet with Governor Shapiro. They will exchange Chiefs and Eagles flags at the game in Glendale, Arizona, and the loser will fly the other flag in their state capitol.
