The Wichita Fire Department says one person was found dead following an overnight house fire.
Crews were called to the 1100 block of S. Wichita, near Lincoln and Main, around 1 a.m. They found heavy flames coming from a home, and were only able to search one bedroom at the time. Once flames were brought under control, crews were able to do a more thorough search. That’s when they found a person deceased in an area that saw heavy fire.
The person’s name has not been made public. An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
