Crime Stoppers of Wichita-Sedgwick County approved $6,050 in reward payments for anonymous tips that led to felony arrests in February.

The Crime Stoppers board voted Monday to approve the amount, which included two $2,500 rewards – the current maximum payout for a single Crime Stoppers tipster.

The first $2,500 reward payment was approved for a tip that identified a homicide suspect connected to a September 2022 case. The suspect was later identified and arrested on 2nd-degree murder charges.

The second $2,500 reward payment was approved for an anonymous drug tip that led to a search warrant at a Wichita home. Wichita police found one pound of cocaine, half a pound of marijuana, 1,300 suspected fentanyl pills, and multiple firearms. The suspect of the investigation was booked on two charges of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

Other arrests included two suspects with outstanding Sedgwick County Warrants, one person wanted on felony domestic violence charges, and three other suspects arrested for drug distribution of drugs in the Wichita/Sedgwick County area.

Anyone with information regarding a felony crime that occurred in Sedgwick County is eligible to receive a reward by submitting a tip through Crime Stoppers by calling 316-267-2111 or online at www.stopcrime316.com. Crime Stoppers will never ask someone to identify themselves.
