The Kansas Department of Transportation announced on its website Tuesday that the new ramp from Northbound I-135 to I-235 is expected to be open around Wednesday, May 31st.
The improvement project began in April, 2021, and aims to alleviate rush hour traffic congestion by replacing the old I-135 North ramp with a two-lane flyover ramp to Southbound I-235. Since the project began, daytime traffic on I-135 South was reduced to single lane traffic with an 11′ width restriction.
Construction will continue in the area as the next phases of rebuilding the interchange are already underway.
An exact time for the reopen hasn’t been given.
