19-year-old La’Niha Banks, the woman charged in a May 20th shooting in Old Town that killed a young woman, has bonded out of jail.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the news Thursday. Banks was being held on a $500,000 bond.
Banks is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Lationna Johnson. Johnson was shot in a vehicle after breaking up a fight. She died from her injuries a few days later.
Banks was identified as the suspect soon after and was arrested her earlier this week. She was formally charged on Wednesday with first-degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder.
She is set to return to court on June 22nd.
