A judge has delivered a guilty verdict for a Wichita man charged in connection with a fatal shooting last year in the Old Town district.   A bench trial concluded Tuesday for 25-year-old Sa’Qorea Sweeney.

Prosecutors said Sweeney was driving a car involved in the August 14th, 2022 shooting death of 22-year-old Deandre Greenley.   Police said Greenley was hit several times by shots fired from a vehicle in the 100 block of North Mosley.

In May, 22-year-old Christopher Dyas was sentenced to 216 months in prison, after Dyas pleaded guilty to second degree murder and assault.

Sweeney was found guilty of obstructing apprehension or prosecution.  He was scheduled for a jury trial but waived that right and asked for a bench trial.   Sedgwick County District Judge Chrystal Krier delivered the guilty verdict and continued Sweeney’s bond.  He is free until sentencing, which was scheduled for July 25th.
