A Haysville man admitted to fraud tied to a COVID relief program for business owners.

59-year-old Timothy Warren owns Titan Medical Center, in Wichita, which provided services that  included chiropractic care and school sports physicals. He pled guilty to money laundering.

Prosecutors say Warren submitted false documents to the Small Business Administration to take out fraudulent loans in May of 2020 and April of 2021. The loans were part of the CARE Act’s Paycheck Protection Program. Warren then took out $35,500 in a cashier’s check, then moved the money to another bank in August of 2020. Warren admitted this caused the Small Business Administration to suffer a total loss of $145,877.70.

“The federal government created programs to provide economic relief to businesses struggling to
stay afloat during the COVID-19 related shutdowns,” said U.S. Attorney Kate E. Brubacher.
“Unfortunately, Timothy Warren manipulated a well-intentioned program into a mechanism of
personal financial gain and must now be held accountable.”

Warren is set to be sentenced October 3 of this year.
