A Wichita man has pleaded guilty to charges connected with a fatal shooting that happened in 2020.

32-year-old Jesse Sweeney pleaded guilty to kidnapping and aggravated assault, and he will be sentenced in September.

Sweeney was one of three people charged in the April, 2020 shooting death of 30-year-old Blake Mayes.   The shooting happened during a disturbance in the 200 block of North Charles.

Another man, 54-year-old William Moore, is awaiting trial on charges of kidnapping and assault.   Mayes’ girlfriend, 38-year-old Bobbie Williams, was sentenced in February to more than 27 years in prison.
