Former Wichita deputy police chief named to similar post in Derby

A former deputy police chief from Wichita has been appointed as the new deputy police chief for the City of Derby.

Lemuel “Lem” Moore will take over for Brandon Russell, who has been promoted to police chief in Derby.   Moore will supervise budgetary spending, internal investigations, management of the department and personnel training.

Moore served for 31 years in the Wichita Police Department, where he served in a variety of operations.  He serves as the interim police chief before retiring from the Wichita department in 2022.
