Around 6,000 customers were without electricity in areas of South Wichita on Sunday afternoon after an explosion was reported at a substation.
The explosion was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. at a substation at Seneca and MacArthur.
The outage affected a general area between Pawnee and 47th Street South, from West Street to I-135.
Most of the customers had power restored around 6 p.m., with a few small outage areas remaining.
