Two people have been arrested in connection to Monday morning’s fatal shooting of 51-year-old Jose Lumbreras.
Wichita Police on Wednesday arrested 63-year-old Kevin L. Harris of Lawrence, and 50-year-old Monicie Ramirez of Wichita for 1st Degree Murder.
Lumbreras was found in the 1200 block of N. Broadway just after midnight early Monday morning. He had suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead shortly after EMS arrived on scene.
Officials said Ramirez was located and arrested in Wichita and investigators later learned that Harris had fled to the city of Lawrence. WPD investigators coordinated with the Lawrence Police Department to apprehend him. Lawrence PD activated their Crisis Response Team and Harris was arrested and transported back to Wichita.
This case has been charged and is with the District Attorney’s Office.
