Schools in the Circle Public School district were placed on lockdown Monday morning while Butler County officials searched for a suspect involved in a chase.
The Towanda Elementary School and Circle High School were placed on lockdown around 10 a.m. as law enforcement officers searched for a man who jumped out of a vehicle after a chase. The man was later found and taken into custody.
School officials notified parents online about the lockdown.
