An unidentified person is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening in southeast Wichita.
The accident was reported around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Sylvan and Lincoln, between Oliver and Edgemoor. A 57-year-old Wichita man was found at that intersection and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Police said the man was walking east on the south side of Lincoln, and he was in the roadway when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. Police were talking to the driver, a 32-year-old Andover man, and the collision is still under investigation.
This is the 24th fatality collision of the year in Wichita.
