They got their start on STAR SEARCH. They won. They went to Nashville. They won… awards! They were the  1985 CMA Horizon Award Winners.  Then the ACM Band of the Year from 1993 – 1998. They had they’re own style. So much energy on stage. Big hit records like, “Some Girls Do,” “Thank God for You”, “Step That Step,” and “The Race Is On.”

In honor of the group’s 40th anniversary, the band announced a new documentary Get Me To The Stage On Time. It explores how they turned 15 minute of fame into a 40 year career. The executive producer is BLAKE SHELTON. He takes us behind the scenes on their journey with commentary from Dierks Bentley, Dolly Parton, and Blake has some things to say too.

You can watch the trailer below.  The band says they were turned down by every record label in town. Maybe the executives couldn’t figure them out, but the fans got it right away. It was about their show. They performed over 250 concerts a year and proved to be one of the hardest working bands period. Blake is also said to be producing a new Sawyer Brown Album. Love it!

The documentary premieres on Sunday, October 1st at the Nashville Film Festival. They’ll perform after the screening. They promise surprise guests.  They are still trying to figure out wider distribution. Will it be in theaters – streaming? We’ll just have to wait and see. But I can’t wait.
