Amazon will be hiring hundreds of people in the Wichita area to get ready for the upcoming holiday season.
The online retailer will fill 700 positions at the company’s fulfillment center in Park City and the delivery station in Wichita. Average hourly salaries are around $20.50 for a variety of jobs. The company is planning to hire an extra 250-thousand employees across the country, including close to 2,500 employees in Kansas.
Meanwhile, Target intends to hire 100-thousand new employees throughout the country. Macy’s is adding 38-thousand. U-P-S and FedEx are yet to announce seasonal hiring targets.
