A suspect has been arrested in Colorado in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found in Harvey County earlier this month.
Hutchinson police said a search warrant was executed at a home in that city and it was learned that the resident was in Aurora, Colorado. An arrest warrant was issued and Aurora police took the man into custody. He is being held in the Adams County, Colorado jail pending extradition to Kansas on charges of second degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
The body of 31-year-old Travis Lee Ford of Hutchinson was found on September 17th at East Park in Harvey County, and it was determined that he died of a gunshot wound. Investigators from Harvey County, Reno County and the Hutchinson Police Department began an investigation that led to the arrest.
Hutchinson police said evidence of the murder was discovered as a result of the search warrant. No other details have been released.
