Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita announced Monday that Thomas Gentile III has resigned from the board of directors. The resignation was effective September 30th.
Patrick Shanahan has been named as interim President and CEO, and Spirit’s board of directors will begin a search to find a new top executive.
Shanahan served at The Boeing Company for over three decades, and he also served as the 33rd Deputy U.S. Secretary of Defense.
