Police say they have made an arrest in a downtown Wichita shooting incident that turned fatal.
Police said a shot was fired inside a car near 3rd and Broadway around 3:15 p.m. and the driver of the car was hit. Witnesses reported seeing a slow-moving vehicle striking a utility pole, and then several people jumped out of the car and ran from the scene.
The driver, identified as 18-year-old Jaqualen Dupree of Wichita, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
Another 18-yer-old Wichita man has been arrested on a charge of second degree murder, and investigators are still working to determine what led up to the shooting.
