A Wichita teenager has been charged with second degree intentional murder in connection with the shooting death of another teenager inside a car in the downtown area.
A hearing was held Thursday for 18-year-old Tyshon Jacques. His bond was set at $500,000 and his next court appearance was scheduled for October 24th.
Police said 18-year-old Jaqualen Dupree of Wichita was driving a car Monday afternoon when he was shot, and his car hit a pole near 3rd and Broadway. Other people jumped out of the car and ran. Police identified Jacques as the gunman and he was caught after a foot chase near Kellogg and Topeka. Dupree died later at a hospital.
