UPDATE: Maize police say a 10-year-old boy who was hit by a car is still in serious condition but improving.
The boy was taken to a hospital with critical injuries after being hit by a car in Maize early Wednesday.
The accident was reported around 7:15 a.m. near 45th Street North and 119th Street West. The boy was in the crosswalk on 45th Street when he was hit. Police said the driver tried to avoid hitting the boy but was unable to avoid the collision. The investigation is continuing.
