A young couple and their child were killed and one person was hospitalized after an explosion late Saturday afternoon at a building in Bucklin, in Ford County.

Deputies and rescue crews were called to the 100 block of West Center Street in Bucklin around 5:30 p.m.  Three bodies were found inside a building that was undergoing remodeling.   The dead were identified as 26-year-old Jerry Isakson, 29-year-old Robyn Hamilton, and 19-month-old Stormi Isakson, all of Dodge City.  The Sheriff’s Office said 26-year-old Christian Stimpert of Bucklin was taken to a Dodge City hospital.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation, and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office is working with Ford County officials on the scene.
