Harvey County and the city of Halstead are in talks with Concurrent, an industrial battery storage company, hoping to bring one of its storage facilities to the Halstead Industrial Park. The battery storage center can provide power to anywhere from 200,000 to 800,000 homes. And having a facility like that in Kansas adds to the state’s ability to provide clean, efficient power to not only Kansas residents but some 15 other states in the regional power pool.
