A Wichita man has been charged with first degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting at an east side nightclub.

33-year-old Terrence Johnson is also charged with two counts of aggravated battery, criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and a misdemeanor count of battery.  His bond was set at $1.5 million.  There is no word on his next court date.

Johnson was arrested for last Sunday’s shooting in the parking lot of Club Onyx at 10,001 East Kellogg.  Police said Johnson had been involved in a disturbance inside the club and he went outside to get a gun.  Security procedures at the club prevented him from getting back into the building, and shots were fired during another disturbance in the parking lot.

The shooting killed 23-year-old Jaylon Pete of Wichita and two other men were injured.
