A Sedgwick County judge has ruled that former NFL running back Joseph Randle is incompetent to stand trial in a sexual assault case.
The Wichita native is accused of assaulting a woman at a Wichita apartment complex in 2018. This is one of several run-ins that the 31-year-old Randle has had with law enforcement since he was released by the Dallas Cowboys in 2015.
Judge Tyler Roush ordered Randle to go to an NFL inpatient mental health treatment program in Houston, and in the meantime he will be admitted to Larned State Hospital in Kansas as soon as a bed becomes available there.
