Derby voters approved a sales tax proposal in Tuesday’s general election.  It won 55 percent of the vote. The city would replace the current half cent sales tax with a one cent tax to support public safety, parks and street maintenance.

Haysville voters appear to have narrowly defeated a sales tax proposal, but the margin is only three votes. Provisional ballots could decide the outcome. The proposal would renew a one cent sales tax to fund park and street improvements. It would expire after ten years.

Voters in Mt. Hope have approved a sales tax issue that will provide for a one-cent sales tax to improve streets and public facilities.   It won 65 percent of the vote on Tuesday.
