Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Monday at a home in southwest Wichita.
Officers were called around 1 a.m. to a home in the 3900 block of South Young, west of the intersection of MacArthur and West Street. They found 74-year-old Robert Mitchell of Wichita with a gunshot wound. Officers gave Mitchell medical treatment, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives questioned and then arrested a 67-year-old woman at the home. They are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but it’s believed to be a domestic violence incident.
