The Kansas State Fair Board met in Hutchinson Tuesday to talk about the future of the dirt track at the Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.
Fair officials decided earlier this year to demolish the track by the end of this year. That caught racers and race fans by surprise and they began appealing for a reversal of the decision. There were comments at Tuesday’s meeting in opposition to the closing.
The Fair Board plans to take another look at the situation, and State Fair General Manager Bryan Schulz told KFDI’s news partners at KWCH that there are two proposals that are being considered. The Board will meet again on November 21st to have further discussions.
