The “Wichi-Toad” is the featured character on the poster for next year’s Riverfest celebration in Wichita.
Wichita Festivals, Inc unveiled the poster art on Tuesday. It was created by local artist Dave Allen, who said it represents “river, water and a lot of fun.” Allen received $4,000 as the winner of the Riverfest poster contest.
The art features a toad wearing a cowboy hat, sunglasses and a pink and purple tie. The Keeper of the Plains statue is reflected in the sunglasses and the Wichita skyline is reflected in the background.
The art will be featured on posters, t-shirts and admission buttons for the next Riverfest, which runs from May 31st through June 8th, 2024.
