Winfield police caught up with the driver after a hit-and-run incident that left a woman and her son injured.
A pickup struck the woman and her son shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in the 1900 block of North Main Street. The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the injured woman as 30-year-old Meighan Hipsher of Burden. Her son’s name was not released. They were taken to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.
A 23-year-old Winfield woman was later arrested and booked into jail for failure to stop at an accident and driving under the influence. The Patrol said a juvenile was in the pickup at the time of the incident.
