The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said a man and woman from Wichita were arrested after a traffic stop discovered fentanyl pills and methamphetamine.

The KBI said police in Iola, in southeast Kansas, developed information about meth being distributed in that area.  Kansas Highway Patrol troopers stopped a vehicle on Wednesday in Meade County, in southwest Kansas, and found two pounds of methamphetamine along with around 2,500 pills believed to contain fentanyl.

The 47-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were booked into the Meade County jail for distribution and possession charges, and the woman was also booked for driving while suspended and several traffic violations.
