The Sedgwick County Election Office has added 21 new polling places for elections in 2024.  The move was made to reduce the number of registered voters at each site, and it creates a total of 102 polling places across the county.

Four of the new sites are replacements for polling locations that could not accommodate this year’s elections. Approximately 73,000 voters who will be affected by the change will receive new voter ID cards in the mail with their new assigned polling place highlighted in yellow.

Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater said the additional polling places should prevent long lines at the polls and create a more convenient voting process.

The polling places will be ready for the Kansas Presidential Preference Primary, which is scheduled for March 19th.   Sedgwick County residents will need to be registered to vote by February 20th in order to cast a ballot in the primary.
