A Wichita man has been sentenced to over 25 years in prison for the death of his girlfriend’s nine-month-old daughter.
A sentence of 308 months in prison was handed down Thursday for 29-year-old Brietan Rader. He was arrested in January, 2020 after a baby girl was found at an apartment complex in west Wichita. The girl, Maela Flores, died a few weeks later, and police determined that the girl had been abused.
Rader pleaded guilty last November to second degree murder, two counts of abuse of a child and drug related charges.
