The Sedgwick County District Court Clerk’s Office will be on a limited schedule for the next week in order to catch up on a paper backlog.

The office will be open only in the mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 noon for Monday, February 12th through Friday, February 16th.  The office will be closed in the afternoons.

Staff will be working to deal with a backlog of paper documents resulting from a cyberattack last October that disabled court information systems across the state.  The Court Clerk’s Office will use the afternoon hours to enter paper documents into the Kansas eCourt case management system.

If a party has a document to file in a case, they are encouraged to eFile the document or, if not approved for e-filing, to deliver it to the clerk’s office between 8 a.m. and noon. If a party can’t make it to the courthouse during morning hours, they can file the document by fax or leave it in the court drop box. If time allows, documents can also be sent by mail.

The limited hours may be extended beyond this week if more time is needed to deal with the backlog.
