Light to moderate snow was falling early Friday in northern and central areas of Kansas, creating slick driving conditions.
Some snow was starting to accumulate on Interstate 70 west of Salina as the snow fell. This is coming from a fast moving storm that was expected to move out of the state by the afternoon.
There could be a trace to an inch of snow, mainly north of Wichita into central and northeastern areas of Kansas. The north central part of the state could see one to three inches.
Temperatures will be colder for Friday, staying in the 30s. Sunshine and warmer temperatures are in the weekend forecast.
