Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach said a Florida man has been arrested on election fraud charges.

Kobach’s office said 30-year-old George Andrews of Dade City, Florida is accused of forging signatures on petitions to make “No Labels” an officially recognized political party in Kansas.   He is charged with two counts of election perjury and 28 counts of election forgery.   He was arrested on February 10th in Dade City and is awaiting extradition to Kansas.

Kobach said in a press release that this was part of a scheme to defraud Kansas voters by placing their forged signatures on petitions.

The Attorney General’s Office was given authority to prosecute elections crimes by the Kansas Legislature in 2015.   Kobach said his office has successfully prosecuted 12 cases.
