Pheasant and quail season started this past weekend, and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism says about 40,000 out-of-state bird hunters will come to Kansas through New Year’s Day.
The start of hunting season brings a boost for local communities.
It’s the busiest time of the year for restaurants, hotels, gas stations and grocery stores.
