A new branch library opened in south Wichita on Monday with curbside services.
The Dr. Ronald W. Walters Branch library at 4195 East Harry is the new location for the former Linwood Park Branch. It is offering books and materials, along with copying, faxing and printing, all through curbside operations. There will also be a 24/7 book drop where people can return materials.
The 6,904 square-foot building is named after Wichita civil rights leader Dr. Ronald W. Walters, who organized the Dockum Drug Store sit-in in 1958 and later became an author, speaker and scholar of African-American politics.
