Wichita police are investigating several violent incidents that happened over the past weekend.

Lieutenant Aaron Moses said officers were called to the 1500 block of East Pawnee around 3:30 Sunday morning on a report of a drive-by shooting.  They found that two men, ages 21 and 28, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.   Moses said there has been a lack of cooperation with investigators, and no 911 call was made from a club at that location.   He said a search warrant was executed and evidence was found that the building was operating as an illegal after-hours club.   It’s believed that people may have cell phone video footage of the incident, and they are urged to call detectives at 268-4407, Crime Stoppers at 267-2111 or the See Something Say Something hotline at 519-2282.   Detectives will continue to investigate

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers heard gunfire in Old Town, and they found a shooting victim near 1st and Mead.   A 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.   No arrests have been made and detectives are still investigating.

Police are also investigating after a 31-year-old man was found with two stab wounds.   The man was found around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot in the 1800 block of South Broadway.  He was taken to a hospital for treatment and detectives are still working to find a suspect.  Lieutenant Moses said the victim and the suspect were involved in an altercation that led to the stabbing.

Police Chief Joe Sullivan noted that cities around the country were experiencing violence over the weekend.   He said a common theme has developed with the incidents in Wichita, with what should be minor disturbances or arguments turning into fatal or near-fatal results.   Sullivan praised the work of investigators who are continuing to look into these incidents.
