Wichita police said Tuesday they have arrested the suspect in a fatal shooting at an east side club. 33-year-old Terrence Johnson was wanted for Sunday’s shooting at Club Onyx at 10,001 East Kellogg.
Police said investigative work and a number of tips from the public led to Johnson being identified and arrested, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of formal charges.
Johnson was wanted for the shooting death of 23-year-old Jaylon Pete of Wichita. Two other men were injured in the shooting that happened in the parking lot of the club. Police said Johnson was involved in a disturbance inside the club, then he went outside and got a weapon, but security measures prevented him from getting back into the club.
