A Harvey County judge has sentenced a Hesston woman to life in prison without parole for 50 years for child sex crimes.
The sentence was given Monday to 32-year-old Gabriaella Akin. She had pleaded guilty in June to aggravated indecent liberties with a child and criminal sodomy charges. The victim was a child under the age of 14.
In addition to the prison sentence, Akin was ordered to serve lifetime parole and lifetime registration as a sexual offender. She will be supervised by the Kansas Department of Corrections for the rest of her life.
