Information Technology officials at Ardent Health Services are working around the clock as they deal with a ransomware attack that has been reported in at least five states, including Kansas.
It took place on Thanksgiving but the impact is still being felt. Officials aren’t sure if any personal data was accessed.
The attack impacted Ardent’s facilities at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka. Patients were diverted to other emergency rooms in the area.
Hospital chains have also been diverting patients in the Hillcrest HealthCare System in Oklahoma, Lovelace Health System in New Mexico, and UT Health in Texas. Officials with Capital Health and Hackensack Meridian Medical System in New Jersey reported a similar outage.
