The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office will join other law enforcement agencies in a special traffic enforcement campaign for the New Year’s holiday travel period.
The New Year’s Taking Down DUI campaign will run from December 26th to January 2nd. Deputies will have extra operations to watch for impaired driving. Motorists are urged to have a designated driver or use a ride share if they plan to consume alcohol at New Year’s events.
The New Year’s holiday period is usually the worst time for crashes involving DUI. The Kansas Highway Patrol will also be participating in the special enforcement campaign.
