An unidentified person was killed and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash late Saturday on the Kansas Turnpike in Sumner County.
The crash was reported around 10 p.m. on northbound I-35 near mile marker 24, near Mulvane. The Kansas Turnpike Authority said a vehicle went out of control and went off the roadway, and it was hit by another vehicle that overcorrected.
There was a second crash on the Turnpike when northbound traffic was shut down. Two vehicles were stopped in the right lane and one of them was hit by a third vehicle, which then went on to hit a fourth vehicle. The second crash resulted in minor injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating.
