UPDATE: Police have identified the victim of a shooting that happened early Tuesday in north Wichita. Officers found 20-year-old Joshua Batemon with a gunshot wound in the 1500 block of North Poplar. He was dead at the scene, and an 18-year-old man remains in critical condition at a hospital
The shooting was reported around 2 a.m.
Detectives have been talking with witnesses and persons of interest to find out what led to the shooting, and there are indications that this may have been connected to a road rage incident that happened earlier in the 1900 block of North Broadway. It’s believed that all of the people involved know each other and there are no other people that police are looking for.
