State Senator Carolyn McGinn of Sedgwick has announced that she will retire at the end of her current term, which will expire next January.
McGinn has served 20 years as the District 31 state senator, representing portions of Sedgwick and Harvey counties. She chairs the Local Government committee for this year’s legislative session and she has served on the Ways and Means and Natural Resources committees.
McGinn served six years as a Sedgwick County Commissioners before running for the Legislature. She said she plans to continue working on her family farm, promoting agritourism.
